The Value of Safety

“Safety is not a gadget but a state of mind” Eleanor Everet, safety expert.

It’s easy to train people the mechanics of safety: Wear your harness, wear your hardhat, make sure all ladder legs are on a flat surface and are secured, etc. It’s another thing to teach the mindset of safety. An employee can carry that attitude over into every job they touch.

We fully believe that safety is a state of mind as Everet stated. We train our guys to think “safety first” from the start, not just handing them items to check off a list. Instilling that attitude in our crew and providing top-notch training is just another way we provide value to our customers. They don’t have to worry about the crew they hired to paint their warehouse ceiling because they know Ralph E. Jones, Inc is professional and prepared, and won’t get in the way.

And even though accidents can happen occasionally, their frequency and severity can be lessened by fast-acting crew members whose attitude towards safety is in the right place.
